Immigration ICE Hold

An Ice Detainer, sometimes called an "Ice Hold," is a request by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that you remain in state custody for up to 48 hours (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Federal Holidays) to provide adequate time for ICE to assume custody of you.

This means that you may be held in state custody despite posting bond or being found not guilty in your pending criminal case.

Now is the time to act. If you have an Ice Detainer it is likely that you have an immigration issue that should be evaluated by a qualified Crimmigration attorney.

"Crimmigration" is an area of the law involving cases that have both criminal and immigration issues attached to it. Often, these types of cases may involve state agencies and a myriad of federal agencies such as ICE, CBP, USCIS, EOIR and the U.S. Attorney. Having an attorney versed only in criminal law or only in immigration law puts you at a disadvantage. We are experienced in navigating you through this complicated area of the law.
